Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands.

Hynek Fine Woodworking
Handcrafted sculpted furniture and Japanese kumiko art, made in South Carolina.

About Hynek Fine Woodworking
Beautiful furniture catches the eye. Thoughtful craftsmanship gives it lasting meaning.
At Hynek Fine Woodworking, every piece begins with a love for traditional craftsmanship. Whether I’m building a sculpted chair inspired by Sam Maloof or assembling a Japanese kumiko panel one strip at a time, my goal remains the same—to create heirloom-quality pieces that can be enjoyed and passed down for generations.
For me, woodworking is more than building furniture; it is a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship, patience, and discovering the beauty already present in each piece of wood. Every project is an opportunity for me to practice a craft that values care over haste and excellence over efficiency.
From my workshop in the foothills of South Carolina, I build each piece by hand, combining timeless woodworking techniques with thoughtful design. My hope is that every chair and every piece of kumiko invites people to slow down, appreciate the character of natural wood, and enjoy the quiet beauty that thoughtful craftsmanship brings into everyday life.
