Custom Woodworking Commissions

Custom woodworking begins with a conversation. Whether the need is for a particular piece of furniture, an object for the home, or something created for a unique purpose or space, I work with each client to understand what the piece needs to accomplish. From there, we develop an idea that brings together function, thoughtful design, carefully selected wood, and traditional craftsmanship.

A History of Making

These pieces represent some of the varied work I have been privileged to create over the years—from furniture and cabinetry to church furnishings and pieces made for unique spaces and purposes. Each began with a need, a conversation, and the challenge of finding a thoughtful solution in wood.

Custom Furniture Possibilities.

Living Room Furniture

Custom living room furniture can be designed around the way a room is used, the proportions of the space, and the character of the wood selected for the piece. From coffee tables and end tables to sofa tables and other occasional furniture, each commission is developed to feel at home in its surroundings while remaining distinctly handcrafted.

Have a particular piece or space in mind? Custom commissions begin with a conversation about your needs, ideas, and the way you want the piece to function in your home.

Dinning Room Furniture

Custom dining room furniture can be designed around the way family and friends gather, the proportions of the room, and the character of the wood selected for the piece. From dining tables and benches to coordinating pieces, each commission is developed to balance function, comfort, and craftsmanship while creating a natural centerpiece for the room.

The Commission Process

For custom woodworking, the process begins by understanding what the piece needs to accomplish—its purpose, dimensions, setting, and the way it will be used. From there, we can discuss ideas, wood selection, and other practical considerations before I develop a design suited to the piece and the space.

Have Something in Mind?

If you have a piece in mind for your home, church, business, or another unique space, I would be glad to hear about it. Tell me what you need, where it will live, and what you hope the piece will bring to the space. From there, we can begin a conversation about what might be possible.
